Nick Cheung Ka Fai with THE BEAST STALKER (JING YUN) won six Best Actor awards. The original cast worked on the Dante Lam Chiu Yin directed film THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) yesterday officially wrapped up its production on New Year's Eve. The cast including Cheung Ka Fai, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Liu Kai Chi, Guey Lun-Mei, Lu Yi and Sherman Chung Shu Man attended the champagne bottle opening ceremony. Reportedly the salaries of Ka Fai and Ting Fung have jumped several levels. They both declined to the other and joked that in the end they depended on market decision, they could not make US$300 million just by saying it.

Yesterday was New Year's Eve. Ka Fai expressed that at night he would head to work in Guangzhou but his wife would not tag along; Ting Fung also stated that he would not be able to go to the countdown. As for the production, did they suffer any injury? Ting Fung expressed that in the end he would suffer a little. Ka Fai pointed out that fight scenes ultimately would not feel comfortable, then he pointed at Ting Fung and said, "Especially for this type of action superstars, who performs without any concern for his life." Ka Fai pointed out that Ting Fung's BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (SUP YUET WAI SING) performance received uniformly good reviews as he became a new superstar. This time when they worked together they had more chemistry and the collaboration was much smoother.

Would they like to win more awards with this film? They both expressed that no one should think like this. Ka Fai pointed out that if he thought like that work would not come first. Filmmaking would not have a formula. With a formula it would instead be much easier. This time whose scenes stole more attention? They said actually they were close, like Uncle Chi also stole a lot of attention. Ka Fai expressed that this time had too much content. After shooting three hours worth of movie, almost every scene could not be cut as everyone's drama was very strong; but neither he nor Ting Fung played a villain. Earlier Ting Fung revealed that he and Guey Lun-Mei had bed scenes. Ting Fung pointed out that they had a little intimate scene. Did he refuse any bed scene? He said, "After negotiation we feel this is the most appropriate." Ka Fai asked, "Then what is the standard?" Ting Fung said, "A wet kiss that not all wet." Ka Fai joked, "Did you take a sip of water and wet your mouth then kiss?" Ka Fai pointed out that Ting Fung dared to jump off a building but cried for help when he made intimate scenes. Ting Fung honestly said that he was not used to such performance, and jumping off a building was an individual's matter. Ka Fai asked Ting Fung, "If you have to make LUST, CAUTION, then what?" Ting Fung honestly said that he could not do it.

Yesterday a Mainland report claimed that their salaries rose drastically. They immediately deferred to each other. Ka Fai felt that he could not start the bid on his salary, as it was market determined. Reporters pointed out that he was a six time Best Actor so he would get a raise. He said, "It's not calculated like this, a lot have to be balanced. It's not like you hold the award then you can." Ting Fung expressed that with a script that could not be better, he would work for the sake of wanting to work. He said, "Whether the singer wins an award or not, what can the song sell?" Ka Fai honestly said that sometimes he would think if every time he won he received a raise, the awards became a money making tool. Reporters jokingly asked whether he felt that was the reality. He said, "Of course it should be like that, but it depends on the market. I can't just ask for US$300 million per movie." When asked whether Ting Fung would go to the countdown with his wife and son Lucas, he said no. His son did not know how to count down yet, he only counts up. Did he know the sex of their second child yet? He expressed that the doctor refused to say. His wife said if the doctor would not say next week she would throw a tantrum. He understood that many doctors were reluctant to tell until the time was right.

Guey Lun-Mei spent her first New Year's Eve in Hong Kong. she would go out with her co-workers for the countdown, but she heard that Lan Kwai Fong had a lot of people and she was afraid she could not enter. Siu Mei expressed that last year she went to a countdown in New York and earlier she attended a countdown in Taipei. This year she would not be able to count down with her boyfriend Leon Dai Lap Yun. She joked that this was a work day. Did he come to Hong Kong? She expressed that he did not.

As for the kiss scene with Tse Ting Fung, she said that everyone would know when they would see it. Did she think Ting Fung was very bashful? She pointed out that Ting Fung was very professional. The emotions and characters required this scene. It only took three or four times and ended very quickly. Ting Fung would rather jump off a building than any intimate scene. Siu Mei said, "When he worked on it he was very open, very professional." Siu Mei in the film also had many action scenes. Although she had injuries all over, she felt it was rather fun.  Now with the wrap she instead felt reluctant to leave and hoped that the shoot could keep going. Did she fall in love with being an action actress? She honestly said that she was rather happy about action scenes and felt that she had quite a knack for it. This character was very different from her previous ones. In the film she hit people and got hit. In one scene she had to keep hitting Keung Ho Man on the head with a bag of rice. He was dizzy from getting hit. She at first was very sorry and could not start. Yet action director Chin Kar Lok told her not to be afraid. After the shoot she kept apologizing to him, "I'm very sorry."

Would she be able to accept any nude scene? Siu Mei honestly said that would not be a problem, but she has not considered full frontal nudity. reporters asked her to think a minute to think about it. She said, "I may have to adjust a little." Was her boyfriend concerned about the fight scenes? She said, "No, we are both actors. Sometimes he would ask me to be more careful, but when the mood arrived a lot was beyond anyone's control." In addition, Chung Shu man played Ting Fung's sister and also had many fight scenes. She thought they were a lot of fun. The most memorable for her was pouring left over water. She was not poured on but the vehicle's roof window opened. After the shoot when she went to the vehicle she saw her bag had two wet strains of vegetable that stank. She no longer dare to look at that bag from then on. Deep Ng Ho Hong in the film played a villain. His most unforgettable scene was a gunplay scene. Before the shoot he did not learn to shoot because he played a criminal this time. Criminals just shot randomly.

Big S Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon) yesterday came to Hong Kong to attend a Hong Kong Madame Tussaud's press conference. At the wax museum her new film FUTURE X-COPS (MEI LOI GAING CHAT)'s costume was made into a wax figure, the first artist wax figure in 2010 in the museum. She said during costume fitting she asked for her looks and figure to be more perfect but she was rejected.

Yesterday at the press conference she performed a hand print ceremony. The event also displayed her kiss scene with male lead Andy Lau Tak Wa in FUTURE X-COPS. She revealed that earlier for the wax figure mold she spent two hours standing and maintaining her smile. She said, "Although it was a little tiring, I thought it was worth it when at 80 I would be able to enjoy it with my children. It would be more realistic than the photo." Her wax figure's first draft would be completed in February. She saw it and thought it resembled her a lot. She also revealed that during the production she asked her face to be thinner, her figure to be better and her legs longer, but the museum personnel declined as it had to be made 100% according to her look.

Big S also said that she will be promoting FUTURE X-COPS in Hong Kong on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Last year she also spent New Year's Eve in Hong Kong as she made FUTURE X-COPS with Lau Tak Wa. She felt that she was destined to be with Wa Jai. Would she like another half to count down with her? She said, "Every holiday I want to have a boyfriend to keep me company, but I can't force such matter." She believed that destiny had its arrangements, like her sister and brother in law were destined to be together.

Reportedly BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS will have a prequel. Chan Ho Sun pointed out that each character could have an independent story development. Since they did not know how many they would have to make, they decided to make a television series. The screenplay is under preparation. He revealed that the television series will tell how Fan Bingbing abandoned Donnie Yen Chi Tan, how Wang Xueqi and Leung Ka Fai built their relationship, how Yam Ta Wa and Lee Yuchun came from Tianjun to Hong Kong. The cast has not been decided but he welcomed the "original players" to return.

[2009.12.31] JACKY CHEUNG ALMOST HAS HEAT STROKE?

Jacky Cheung Hok Yau in the Lunar New Year film HOT SUMMER DAYS (CHUEN SING YIT LUEN) had scenes with Rene Liu (Lau Yeuk Ying ) and a 7 year old girl. In the film Hok Yau played a driver. After losing his job he was forced to play an "ice man" on the busy Mongkok streets. The shoot took place in the summer. Hok Yau's strange costume attracted many onlookers nad added to the comedy effect.

Hok Yau's prop "ice" was a several dozen pound slush. During the shoot, he almost suffered a heat stroke. After completion the red mark that was left on his shoulders took several days to disappear.

Playing Hok Yau 's daughter in the film, Strawberry was chosen from over 100 girls. She not only played the piano well, she memorized the dialogue instantly and became the set's zero bad take actor. Sometimes she even reminded Hok Yau of his lines. Thus Hok Yau joked, "Don't steal my lines."

She said, "I would watch the (Maggie) Cheung Man Yuk starred CLEAN. She played the former drug addict wife of a former rock star. Her performance was very nature and very real."

[2009.12.30] JACKIE CHAN CLAIMS TO SING BETTER THAN WANG LEEHOM

courtesy of singtao.com

Jackie Chan yesterday attended the film LITTLE BIG SOLDIER (DAI BING SIU JEUNG)'s official poster launch. Speaking of his new film, Big Brother revealed that he thought about this story 20 years ago. At the time he planned to play the little soldier role. Later he showed the screenplay to Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) and Jiang Wen, but Jiang Wen was busy with his own film. He also handed it to Sammo Hung Kam Bo. Finally he ended up making it with Wang Leehom (Wong Lik Won) while he became the big soldier.

Jackie Chan expressed that this film would not be as crass as DRUNKER MASTER and its sequel. Mainland viewers were high quality so the film could not be messed around with. At the event Big Brother even sang the film song YAU CHOI FA. Why did he not ask Wang Leehom to sing? He said that as soon as Wang Leehom sang it its country flavor would be gone.

[2009.12.30] PAW HEE CHING PLAYS MICHELLE YEOH'S MATCHMAKER

courtesy of takungpao.com

Paw Hee Ching, Leila Tong Ning, Liu Kai Chi, Barry Yip Man Fai, EO2, Zac Koo (Ko Ho Ching) and Hung Chung Yam yesterday attended the play 18 METER PER SECOND press conference. The play was based on the life of the seven time bicycle champion Hung Chung Yam. Yesterday the event arranged for Pastor Lam Yi Lok to host a prayer ceremony for a smooth performance.

Sister Bau will work with Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi King) and Korean star Jung Woo-Sung in the film JIANYU JIANGHU. She will head to Hengdian soon. "Now it's only ten degrees below zero Celsius there. It's very cold. My friends already gave me a pair of thermo pants." Sister Bau said that in the film she would play the matchmaker for Yeung Chi King and Jung Woo-Sung. Will she have any action scene? Sister Bau said that she did not and joked that now she could not even perform it.

[2009.12.30] MIAO PU RIVALS ACTION STAR

courtesy of takungpao.com

The film TREASURE HUNTER (CHI LING) will open tomorrow in Hong Kong. In the film Miao Pu although did not have many appearances, but her strong "action actress" image brought a refreshing feeling to the audience's eyes.

Miao Pu played a desert robber leader. With her green metal mask and a low voice, she gave an impression as soon as she appeared. In one scene she saw Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun), the old flame who has been on her mind for ten years, with a new girl Lin Chiling. The threatening leader immediately became a jealous woman. This scene was quite an acting challenge. Miao Pu's fight scenes were rather exciting as well. Her skills with her weapon made her action no less than female action stars with a martial art background.

The director created this character for a love triangle to impact the audience with. In the film, Chow Kit Lun, Lin Chiling, Miao Pu and Baron Chen Chor Ho's relationships actually are four sided. Chow Kit Lun joked, "The director like me in innocent love, which I feel rather good about."

[2009.12.29] NICHOLAS TSE GOES CRAZY AT THE WRAP

courtesy of singtao.com

Soon to be a father again, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung earlier worked on the wrap for THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN). Director Dante Lam Chiu Yin arranged for champagne to celebrate with the cast. Ting Fung after completing the film could take time off to be with his wife Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi. Thus he led the cast in a champagne war happily.

Ting Fung earlier worked on THE STOOL PIGEON's wrap at a Tsim Sha Tsui gold store. Deep's girlfriend Chong Si Man visited the set. Reportedly the store was built in a vacant store front. Director Lam Chiu Yin and the crew arranged for champagne to celebrate with the cast the completion of the entire shoot. Ting Fung often played with his Taiwan co-star King Kong. Ting Fung even kept jumping to see how high he could jump.

Then the crew brought out champagne. Ting Fung, King Kong and Deep looked at each other and began to spray each other. Ting Fung was so excited that he ran to the road. The frightened crew screamed, "Be careful!" After the champagne war, everyone returned to the store and toasted the crew.

Ting Fung earlier revealed after completing STOOL will work on SHAOLIN (SUN SIU LUM JI) in the Mainland. He believed that he could spend his free time with Pak Chi who is carrying their second child. Ting Fung expressed that Pak Chi wanted him to stay in Hong Kong for their second child. He pointed out that Pak Chi was not depressed from the pregnancy and she still carries their son Lucas. He said Lucas was still little and did not know yet.

[2009.12.29] KARENA LAM FEELS HONOR TO BE IN A 3D FILM

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Karena Lam Ka Yun, Guo Tao, Liu Ye starred Filmko film DON QUIXOTE just wrapped earlier. Filmko invested 75 million RMB on this film, which is also Asia's first film to be entirely shot in 3D.

After over 3 months of production, director Agan expressed that this production was the most exhausting in his 15 year career. Many snow storms hindered the progress. Lam Ka Yun who was in her first costume role was shivering from the cold. Because the costume was very flimsy, she could not wear more clothing or even heating pads. She could only wear down jackets when she was not in the shoot. Due to the 3D shoot, the cinematographer spent more than on camera positions than on a 2D movie. Often she had to wait silently on the set. However, Ka Yun stated that it was worth all the hardship because this costume shoot felt very fresh. In the film she had many different costumes and she was very honored to be a part of China's first 100 minute 3D film. Now DON has begun its eight month long post production in the U.K. and North America
and has been slated for a summer release.

Filmko's US$30 million production MONKEY KING already has a first draft for its screenplay. This time will have a lot of more innovation from the original story as humans, gods and demons will appear in the film. The Monkey King's personality will also have a lot of change. The New Zealand company that was responsible for THE LORD OF THE RINGS series special effect production already arrived in the Mainland earlier. AVATAR's 3D technology team also provided assistance so MONKEY KING's 3D technology will reach international quality.

[2009.12.29] WANG LEEHOM WORKS WITH JACKIE CHAN FOR THE FIRST TIME

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Jackie Chan, Wang Leehom (Wong Lik Won) and Korean hunk Yoo Seung-Jun starred Lunar New Year film LITTLE BIG SOLDIER will be released in February. The film is mainly anti-war but still maintains Jackie Chan film's usual comedy action elements. Wang Leehom said that he liked Jackie Chan's movies very much. After reading the screenplay he decided to accept it and worked in Nanning for nearly half a year.

Jackie Chan's wife Joan Lin (Lam Fung Giu) brought Wang Leehom and Jackie Chan together for their first collaboration. Jackie Chan originally was interested in Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) for the general role, but Lam Fung Giu felt that Chow Kit Lun and Jackie Chan had similar looks in their eyes. Both are tough so their different personalities on the battlefield would be truly hard to express. She then suggested Wang Leehom to Jackie Chan for a clear contrast. Although Wang Leehom knew about the numerous action scenes in the film and that the production would definitely be tough, he truly liked this story very much and did not mind the abuse.

Jackie Chan did not show Wang Leehom any mercy. Wang Leehom was Jackie Chan's hostage in the film and had dirt all over his face. Either his hair was all over the place or he had blood stains on his face. He felt that this character was very challenging and could truly challenge his acting. he also benefited a lot from working with Big Brother because he was not only an actor. He was very familiar with the entire film operation, which was more beneficial to the cast. He also did not feel that Big Brother gave him a hard time. Instead he stuffed experience into his pocket, for which he truly was very appreciative.

During the shoot Leehom did not forget about his music creation. While shooting in Nanning when everyone returned to the hotel he was creating in his room. Big Brother would patrol every night to see if his Seven Little Fortunes were slacking. Every time he passed Leehom's room he heard music from it. Actually Leehom brought his guitar to the location and during breaks he took the time to write songs and lyrics, which Big Brother admired a lot.

[2009.12.29] AVATAR REIGNS AT THE CHRISTMAS BOX OFFICE

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Christmas holiday has passed. This year's Christmas film competition was rather fierce. Although Chinese films were not weak with the assistance of big productions BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (SUP YUET WAI SING) and STORM WARRIORS (FUNG WON 2), ultimately they were no match for TITANIC director James Cameron's AVATAR. After 11 days in release AVATAR made 48 million at the box office and left its competition in the dust. The Peter Chan Ho Sun produced BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS gathered numerous Best Actors like Tony Leung Ka Fai, Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Eric Tsang Chi Wai. Its Mainland box office has already passed 100 million, but due to its genre it could not absorb the younger viewers during the holiday. Its Hong Kong performance was average. After 10 days its box office was 9.87 million.

Instead with the pretty cast THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON performed better than BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS. After 11 days its box office was 12.4 million. After 18 days STORM WARRIORS slipped at the box office with a cumulative box office of 15 million. SHERLOCK HOLMES after 4 days made 7 million, which was already considered ideal. Zhang Yimou's new film A SIMPLE NOODLE STORY was a big Mainland hit but after 4 days in Hong Kong it only made 420,000. This year's Christmas children film ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 2 THE SQUEAKQUEL after 4 days made 2.33 million.

[2009.12.29] HUANG XIAOMING GETS FENG XIAOGANG FOR AD CAMPAIGN

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of takungpao.com

Mainland film star Huang Xiaoming and famous director Feng Xiaogang earlier worked on the new soft drink ad campaign in Harbin. Due to the below freezing temperature, despite his army jacket, ear muffs and scarf, Huang Xiaoming was still shivering and needed warm drinks to stay warm. Xiaoming honestly said that he asked Feng Xiaogang to work with him. "Personally our relationship is great. I always feel that he is like a teacher and a father to me career wise, thus I have always hoped to get Feng Xiaogang to work on a breakthrough commercial."

Although Xiaoming did not specify their characters, he expressed that the ad had to do with family. Xiaoming said, "I too am someone who sees family as very important. Under the chilling temperature of Harbin the warmth from family is even more blatant."

[2009.12.25] BABY PICKS UP A STICK AND WHACK!

courtesy of on.cc

Angelababy (Yeung Wing) with her looks became the goddess in the hearts of men, but in her new film she became a "village lady baby". She wore a rag on her head and apron to wash clothes on the floor, an 180 degrees from her past image.

Baby in the film ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL TOO 2010 (FA TIN HEI SI 2010) was cast to play a princess. Actually in the film due to amnesia she began a civilian village girl. She even stuttered severely, which was very different from her ordinarily.

In one scene Baby was washing clothes in the backyard. "Village Lady Baby" took a stick and kept beating on clothes on the rocks. Not used to doing chores, she had an obviously hard time with the stick. After a few bad takes she even looked tired. The director and one of her co-stars Raymond Wong Pak Ming discovered that her hands already had blisters and asked Baby to rest. She insisted on continuing. Wong Pak Ming said, "Just beat it like the person you hate the most." Baby immediately viciously hit with all her might, stunning the crew. After the shoot the entire set applauded.

Baby said that the temperature was zero degree Celsius. The costume was flimsy and she was shivering with chills. She who never washed her clothes like this even felt the stick was very heavy. "I kept hitting hard, because I was hitting too hard and it was too cold my hands were bruised. (Who did you think of to hit?) People who picked on me. (And the stuttering?) It's not hard. Because the lines are very long, the stuttering can give me time to think." She thanked Wong Pak Ming's understanding for the break, but she did not want to hinder the progress and insisted on keeping on. Baby also praised Wong Pak Ming's comedy talent. In scenes with him she often held her laughter in. "Next time when I have a chance to work with him again. I not only have to elevate my acting but also have to learn to hold my laughter."

[2009.12.28] WILLIAM CHAN, GILLIAN CHUNG HAVE "SEX" IN BED?

courtesy of on.cc

William Chan Wai Ting this Christmas worked on many shopping center shows. He admitted that he made six figures from this golden slot and enough to play for his U.S. dance lesson trip next year.

Today William and Gillian Chung Yung begin work on the film CHIN DOH (FORMER) officially. He says that this performance is the most extreme. "It's very stressful because Ah Gil is telling everyone that she is giving me her first time." He describes this film as "erotic" and rather daring conceptually. William jokes, "Everyday we have sex scenes to shoot. I know for some daring bed scenes the director will clear the set. I even have to take off my pants. The revealing job is left up to me. I don't mind showing my rear."

[2009.12.28] LIN CHILING IS FOND OF JAY CHOU

courtesy of singtao.com

Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) was linked in rumors with his TREASURE HUNTER (CHI LING) co-star Lin Chiling. Reportedly Jay declined to appear on old flame Patty Hou's East Wind programs Entertainment in Asia and Ace Big Stars to avoid any awkwardness between them. According to the production, Chow Kit Lun had to return to Los Angeles for GREEN HORNET and could only give two days to promote. Aside from press conference, premiere and the news station interviews, he only had the afternoon of the 25th on television. Finally only VARIETY SHOW OF MR. CON AND MS. CSI and SHEN CHUN-HUA LIFE SHOW could accommodate.

On MR. CON AND MS. CSI, Chow Kit Lun and Lin Chiling revealed that they exchanged cell phone numbers and would exchange pleasantries when the other was in trouble. Lin Chiling was asked whether she was fond of Jay. She said, "I feel working partners indeed have to have fondness, otherwise how do we work with each other."

[2009.12.28] MICHELLE WAI HAS ESCORT NIGHTMARE

Michelle Wai (Si Nga) and Kathy Tong Yi yesterday attended the Asia Game Show. Si Nga will work on the new film WOON GAU (ASSISTED RELATIONSHIP) (tentative title) and play a young escort. She will even have a daring bed scene. She said, "I am already nervous before the shoot. I had nightmares for several days in a row. A few days ago I even had an emotional break down." She said that she would not regret accepting the role and did not know who her co-star would be. She did not want any close friend, otherwise it would be very awkward.

The Metro Hit Radio Music World award 2009 took place last night on Boxing Day. As usual, Metro presented over 140 awards to singers so everyone could open their presents together. This year Eason Chan Yik Shun and Joey Yung Cho Yi both won six awards to become big winners. Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin won five. Leo Ku Kui Ke, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Hins Cheung King Hin, Kay Tse On Kay, and Sherman Chung Shu Man won four. Gary Chaw (Cho Gat) earlier was involved in a fight but still won three. When the ceremony began, Metro played footage of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson as a salute to him. Then this year's new comers took turn to perform as singers gradually appeared. After the ceremony, the singers took their seats. Rumored couple Chan Yik Shun and Tse On Kay only had Yeung Chin Wa between them, but they had very little exchange; another rumored couple Raymond Lam Fung and Linda Chung Ka Yun sat together. When Louis Cheung Kai Chung won, Tse On Kay looked very happy.

Months after Cho Gat's fight with Justin Lo (Juk Tin), both appeared together for the first time. When Justin performed B.O.K. he ran to hug Cho Gat when he sang "Everything everything will be OK" and the crowd roared, but Cho Gat looked a little embarrassed. When Cho Gat won, Juk Tin also looked very happy. Cho Gat thanked everyone for giving him a chance so he could still sing. He also thanked his family and Juk Tin. He said, "I hope after tonight's good performance, everything else will be set aside. We have to properly make music and sing."

Last year Gold Typhoon boycotted the Metro award show. This year the ice was broken. Metro made a friendly gesture with awards for Gold Typhoon singers Edmond Leung Hong Man, Juk Tin, and Kary Ng Yu Fei. In addition, Stephanie Cheng Yung almost fell when she performed her fast song EXCUSE ME (CHING MUN). She said, "This is very dangerous here, there is a hole. Oh! I can't hear the music." Then she almost fell again. Emperor and Universal won 29 awards.
