The Tian Zhuangzhuang directed, Joe Odagiri and Maggie Q starred film THE WARRIOR AND THE WOLF earlier held its global premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. This film even invited Emi Wada to participate in the costume design and famous photographer Wing Shya (Ha Wing Hong) during the shoot went to Xinjiang to capture the male and female lead's aura. The film company spent six figures on the entire process.

Joe Odagiri and Maggie Q's characters, costumes and locations were also very well researched, thus the film company decided to spend six figures to invite famous Hong Kong photographer Wing Shya to fly to Xinjiang for the shoot. The actors and Wing Shya got along famously as they made different poses according to their characters in the film and their mood at the time.

Maggie Q and Joe Odagiri both felt that the collaboration was very pleasant. Maggie claimed that working with them was like seeing an old friend, they knew how to shoot without too much communication. Maggie Q joked that because of Wing Shya's highly efficient shoot, they were able to finish early. Although Joe Odagiri worked with Hong Kong photographers less, he was very satisfied with this shoot and praised Wing Shya as an amazing photographer. He permitted him and Maggie to move freely to capture their most unique side.
