The star studded BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (SUP YUET WAI SING) will open simultaneously in all Asia on December 18. After earlier confirming Jacky Cheung Hok Yau's mystery performance as the Revive China Society Yang Quyun, yesterday the film company also announced Best Actor Zhang Hanyu as Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The film already completed its post production last week in Thailand. The choice to Dr. Sun, which has always been kept confidential, was unveiled as the copy was released.

Teddy Chan Tak Sum expressed that four versions of Dr. Sun were shot. During editing he hesitated for a long time. The actor not only had to look the part but also be convincing with Dr. Sun's aura. Finally he decided to use Hanyu. Chan Tak Sum honestly thanked all four "Dr. Sun" for their hard work and effort.

Chan Tak Sum said that Dr. Sun was the pivotal point for BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS as the spiritual leader, but they wanted to feature the eight freedom fighters and a variety of minor characters as they faced 500 killers' city wide assassination against the historical backdrop. The variety of life amid it is the real flesh and blood of BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS. Yet the general media from the beginning has been very curious about the choice to play Dr. Sun. When they asked earlier no decision has been made yet. He did not want everyone's attention to be diverted to the question of "who is Dr. Sun". If they lingered on this question, when they watched the film everyone would only pay attention to who resembled Dr. Sun. Chan Tak Sun expressed that he finally chose Zhang Hanyu because of his eyes, which were sincere, sympathetic and tolerant with an aura of "fairness under heaven".
