Qinghai earthquake created over 2,000 deaths and over 10,000 casualties, among them was Hong Kong volunteer Wong Fok Wing who sacrificed himself to save others. Hong Kong show business on the 26th at the Hong Kong Coliseum will perform a fund raiser for the Qinghai
disaster victims.

Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Gordon Chan Ka Seung who were in charge of this event yesterday attended a press conference with almost 60 artists to announce the performance details. Sammi Cheng Sau Man, Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Max Mok Siu Chung have already applied in hopes of heading to Qinghai for the location shoot. Upon approval they will depart immediately.

Before the press conference, the artists stood up for a moment of silence. Chan Ka Seung expressed thanks to everyone's support, including Film Development Council's So Jat Kwong, Peter Lam Kin Ngok who donated 1 million to the production budget and Jackie Chan who agreed to cover the rest. Chi Wai expressed that the event will take place from 6 to 11 PM at the Hong Kong Coliseum. The media live broadcast will began at 8. He thanked the Hong Kong Girl Scout Headquarters for offering the stage the events the day before and saved them a lot of production cost. At 6PM the Hong Kong Coliseum will open. Due to the venue, floating admission will not be in effect. Once the Hong Kong Coliseum will be at capacity no further viewer will be admitted. Each viewer will have to make a minimum donation of $100. Outside the venue the event will be broadcast live on a giant screen and 1,000 people will be able to occupy the venue. A memorial area will also be set up for people to remember volunteer Wong Fok Wing and the disaster victims. Chi Wai also urged people not to bring fresh flowers and instead make donations. The event will meet with the police about admission and the details will be announced later.

The event also invited Poon Yuen Leung to write new lyrics to the Lowell Lo Koon Ting song PUNG JUEK OI (WITH LOVE) as the event theme song HAND TO HEART (SAU NIN SUM). Tonight artists will gather at Radio Hong Kong to record. Tomorrow the song will be aired at various media. Chi Wai expressed that since the May 12 disaster relief event, many disasters have taken place. Yet this time the Qinghai earthquake was so severe that show business and ordinary people asked him whether any fund raising event will be held. Even TVB's janitor lady wanted to volunteer. With Hong Kong volunteer Wong Fok Wing representing Hong Kong spirit, he hoped to make an expression for him and thus he immediately began to plan. Chi Wai also said that he will attentively select organizations that will benefit, hopefully the event will truly be able to help the victims. The beneficiaries will be announced later.

The list of performers will be announced tonight. Was the 1 million that Lam Kin Ngok donated for production enough? He expressed that he has not done the calculation yet but Jackie Chan has already agreed to cover the rest. They will try to save as much as they can. In previous fund raising events, a lot of water and food were left. Although they were sponsored they did not want them to go to want. Thus this time they would like a clear head count. As for the fund raising target, Chi Wai expressed that he did not want any fund raising pressure. CCTV earlier already raised 2 billion yuan RMB. Phoenix Satellite Television earlier raised 900 million yuan RMB. Whatever Hong Kong raised would not be a big deal, but everyone would like to raise as much as they could. It was a chance for Hong Kong to express itself and proved a memorial place for Hong Kong to pay its respect.
