The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society held a press conference yesterday to announce the official establishment of the "Jockey Club Cine Academy". The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society director Wong Ying Wai, Hong Kong Jockey Club charities trust executive director So Cheung Tak, ambassador Nick Cheung Ka Fai, director Heiward Mak Hei Yan and Siu Suk Wai attended. The Jockey Club Cine Academy will provide three years of educational activities. As the ambassador Cheung Ka Fai stated that this event hoped to be able to raise film literacy among young people, who from having more platforms might contact position atmosphere, ease psychological and emotional troubles, and thus reducing youth drug abuse situations.

Ka Fai pointed out that now Hong Kong has many movies that lack "Hong Kong flavor" and Hong Kong specialty. Not only antiques and heritage required preservation, he felt that Hong Kong film culture also required preservation. This time the Jockey Club would assist the film industry with new talent development and practice, which would certainly be helpful. Ka Fai earlier participated in many events that supported cultivation of youth in new advancement of film. This time he would not mind lecturing. Was he willing to lower his salary to work on young people's films? Ka Fai said that if the work is sincere and suitable for him, it would be worth consideration. Has Ka Fai also thought about directing? He honestly said that he has always wanted to make a movie with heavy drama, but first he would have to consider how to raise the financing. Ka Fai also said although he received many awards, he would continue to chase his dream in acting so he still did not have determination to become a director.
