Carina Lau Ka Ling two nights ago attended a certain international handbag label event. It was also Ka Ling's first appearance in Shanghai since her Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress victory. After waiting for years to win, she appeared to be very calm at the award show and did not behave particularly excited. Ka Ling said that this award was bonus. She truly was very pleased as her effort was recognized. Was this award her career peak? Ka Ling reiterated that it was a bonus. She said that her career has always been very successful. Now she finally won Best Actress, what more could she ask for? Lau Ka Ling shook her head. She said success in life could come in many varieties, career was just one. The most important was to live, to live success came first.

On the day on the award, Ka Ling after accepted the award was crowned "the calmest Best Actress in history" for her "laughing at the heaven" look. She denied that she was calm, as she was not 100% confident. As for suspicion that the role of Wu Zetian was not big enough for the Best Actress title, she said that a character's tension was not determined in the amount of time in the film but in the strength of the character. She thought that her performance of this character had quite an aura. Of course this was not her most satisfied character. Ka Ling wanted to win with DAYS OF BEING WILD (AH FEI JING JUEN) the most. Ka Ling graciously said, "Right! Back then when I wanted to win the most they didn't give it to me. However that is already in the past. That stage of my life to me has already gradually faded."

At the event each client could engrave any alphabets or numbers that they wanted on their bags. Lau Ka Ling asked for TLC, "Tony Loves Carina". Speaking of her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Ka Ling said that Wai Jai has always been very supportive of her and cheered for her. That night after she took the award home, she put Leung Chiu Wai's dozen or so awards to the sides while she put hers in the center. Then she took a photo. Finally she wanted to give the award to her mother to thank her for taking caring of her and supporting her over the years. Did she have any more wish? She said that everything is already in the past. The Hong Kong Film Award is already history. People should look toward tomorrow. In the future she will keep working hard and live. Was her next goal having a baby? She said, "I actually never said that I didn't want one! Even without the Hong Kong Film Award I have always wanted to be a mother, it's just that I am still 'waiting in line'."
