Petrina Fung Bo Bo earlier attended the Shanghai Film Museum organized Ruan Lingyu silent film screening and accepted the Film Montage program host's interview. Fung Bo Bo revealed that she will write, direct, and star in a movie about Ruan Lingyu and is conducting research right now.

Fung Bo Bo said that earlier when director Stanley Kwan Kam Peng made CENTER STAGE in 1991, she already had the idea to make a film with a related subject. At the time she asked many friends in the cultural scenes to provide information about Ruan Lingyu, but she did not expect Kwan Kam Peng would make CENTER STAGE. A lot of ideas in the film were very similar to hers. On the day of the interview, Fung Bo Bo visited the Film Museum and was very excited to see a lot of old film production equipment. She pointed out that the old fashioned tripod camera on display was her old friend. She also revealed that Hong Kong production teams used to put chalk at the camera legs for the clapperboard. She often took the chalk to play with, drawing a hopscotch course on the ground to play.
