Rising film star Eddie Peng Yu-Yan and director Dante Lam Chiu Yin after working together on UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN) already have chemistry. Director Lam recently began production on his new film OPERATION MEKONG RIVER (MEI GUNG HOR HUNG DUNG), but Louis Koo Tin Lok had a scheduling conflict and was unable to take the role. Eddie immediately adjusted his work schedule and flew to Bangkok to help. He also took the chance to start training before the production began, including the Thai royal security's gun training and working with drug sniffing dogs.

The film two days ago held a production start worship ceremony to pray for a smooth production and for the victims of the Mekong River case. The film announced that the leads would be Eddie and Mainland Best Actor Zhang Hanyu, Mainland actress Feng Wenjuan would also perform. Huang Xiaoming who once agreed to star but in the end resigned due to his wedding was no longer in the cast. Aside from Thailand and the Golden Triangle, the film will also shoot in Yunnan and Beijing.

The team arrived in Bangkok to prepare even before the Bangkok bombing. After the bombing their plans were inevitably messed up. In addition this subject was based on a true story, Director Lam yesterday said, "This subject is very sensitive, but I can't worry too much about that. I can only take one step at a time. We spent HK$ 10 million there, and built a set that resembled the Kowloon Walled City for action scenes with Zhang Hanyu and others. It will take around two weeks to shoot. The Thailand shoot will end around mid October."
